#DTRoadTrip: Thrill Seeking in Charlotte
Our second stop on the #DTRoadTrip was Charlotte, North Carolina. We discovered on our drive to North Carolina that many great artists have written songs about the state, so naturally we had to listen to them all on repeat.
Carolina in My Mind – James Taylor
Carolina Sunset – The Marshall Tucker Band
We arrived in Charlotte with high spirits and hoarse voices from all our singing. We worried for a minute that listening to songs about North Carolina for 10 hours straight might have set our expectations a little too high, but it was clear as soon as we crossed the border that this is a special place.
Charlotte is home to a ton of great attractions, both natural and man-made, but our first stop had to be the South Boulevard DriveTime to check in on Adam Cox and his team.
Meet the Team
The South Boulevard DriveTime team is known for their expert customer service. South Boulevard customers have commented on their enthusiasm, compassion and their ability to match everyone who walks through their door with a car that fits their wants and needs.
Adam Cox, General Manager for the dealership, invites all Charlotteans to “Come check us out at DriveTime South Boulevard. Here, we are all about finding the right car for you no matter what you’re going through.”
We appreciate all that DriveTime on South Boulevard does for our company and their community. Make them your first stop when you’re in the market for a new car.
Time for Some Fun!
“Fun” in North Carolina could be defined in many ways. Charlotte is home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and champion sports teams like the Carolina Panthers. There are well known museums, like The Mint and Aviation Museum, a thriving art district and glamorous malls and markets.
If getting out in the wild is more your thing, there are acres of forest to explore, hunt and fish in. Follow that up with some famous North Carolina barbecue, and you’ll be saying “hey y’all” like a real Charlottean before you gulp down your second sweet tea.
We wish we had more time to see all the sites, but we needed to get our thrills and get on the road, so we decided “fun” was pronounced “Carowinds”.
Carowinds Amusement Park is home to some of the most mind blowing roller-coasters on the East Coast. For the price of admission, you can feed your need for speed, death defying drops and carnival games, and then feed your need for smoked meats dripping with sweet and savory sauce. If you can only make one stop in Charlotte, make it Carowinds.
What did we miss out on?
North Carolina was definitely a place worth revisiting. Tell us what attractions we missed out on during our short stay so we can plan a second trip!
Be sure to follow DriveTime on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see where we’ll be next week, and leave us suggestions for things to do and places to go.
See you on the road!
